“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Matthew 14:19-21
19 Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave the bread to the disciples, who distributed it to the people.
20 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers.
21 About 5,000 men were fed that day, in addition to all the women and children!
Through this incredible story, Jesus teaches us about His love and care for us. Even when the disciples thought there wasn’t enough, Jesus showed that with God, there is always more than enough. He provided food for the crowd, but more importantly, He showed that He also provides for us. Jesus is our Savior and King, the one who gives us everything we need to follow Him and live with Him forever.
What does this story teach us about who Jesus is? (He is the Son of God who can perform miracles, He loves everyone and gives them what they need)
What are some ways you can share what you have with others, just like Jesus taught?
Thank you, Jesus, for being our Savior and King. Thank you for showing us that you care about every part of our lives and that you will always provide. Help us to trust you when we feel like we don’t have enough, and remind us to share what we have with others, just like you taught the disciples. We love you, and it’s in your name we pray, Amen.

Matthew 14:24-32
24 Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
25 About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
26 When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, “It’s a ghost!”
27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
28 Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”
29 “Yes, come,” Jesus said.
So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted.
31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?”
32 When they climbed back into the boat, the wind stopped.
This story reminds us that Jesus is always with us, even when life feels scary or uncertain. Peter stepped out in faith, but when he started to focus on the waves instead of Jesus, he began to sink. Jesus saved Peter and reminded him to trust. Just like Peter, we can trust Jesus to help us when we face challenges. He is our Savior and King, and He will never leave us, no matter how big the storms in our lives feel.
Have you ever felt scared or unsure about something in your life?
What is one way you can show faith this week like Peter did when he stepped out on the water with Jesus?
When things feel overwhelming, how can you focus on Jesus instead of the “waves” or difficult things around you? (Prayer, Reading the Bible, and having friends and family remind us)
Thank you, Jesus, for being our Savior and King. Thank you for always being with us, even when life feels scary or hard. Help us to trust you and keep our focus on you, just like Peter learned to do. Remind us that you are bigger than any storm we face. We love you, and it’s in your name we pray, Amen.
